Impact TV concerned

Impact TV has lodged a complaint at Irilbung Police Station in connection with cutting and stealing of OFC line from Khongman area on June 26 .
The local cable TV service provider in a statement said that the crime was suspected to be committed by some persons, who have thorough knowledge about cable network system.
It was clear from their manner of damaging the cable line that they probably wanted to black out cable TV signal for a maximum period of time in the area, added the statement.
There have been several cases of cutting LCO lines in the past as well, the press release said and added that similar incidents had already occurred at Kongba where at least 400 meters of OFC cable was stolen and also at several places near Kakching.
The statement further said that Impact TV was set up by a group of well committed people who wished to provide quality programmes to people through new emerging digital technology at affordable rate.
Saying that the network understands the desire of the people to progress and move forward, the statement said that Impact TV is rolling out the latest MPEG-4 set top boxes with recording facility followed by HD STB's soon.
The move comes close on the heels of major satellite channels upgrading their signals to MPEG-4 format.
