Anti-drug day observance

All Assam Rifles units under the aegis of IGAR(S) joined hands on the occasion of "International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking" for spreading awareness among the people regarding ill effects of Drug Abuse.
According to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S), extensive awareness programmes were launched in Keithelmanbi, Somsai, Pallel, Kakching and various other towns and villages across the Manipur by the Assam Rifles.
The awareness programmes included lectures and interactive sessions by the members from Narcotics Control Bureau and by eminent Doctors.
Also a "Run against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking" was organised by the Assam Rifles, wherein an overwhelming number of girls, boys and people from different spheres participated in the run, depicting unity against this evil.
Speaking on these occasions, Maj General Rajeev Chopra IG AR (South) reiterated that substance abuse illicit trafficking of drugs is an evil in our society and continues to pose a health danger to humanity.
Such social endeavours not only generate awareness among the people but also knit people together irrespective of their caste and creed.
