Imphal, June 27 2014 :
The Maram Khullen Circle Board reacting to the press release of Makhan Union issued on June 25 regarding the attack in Naojai village, stated that it carried full of false and unfounded allegations.
The statement said that the police team, who had miserably failed to pacify the situation, was the witness to the Makhan sponsored 'perpetrators' who were in fully armed with sophisticated weapons and resorted to indiscriminate firing, ransacking houses and creating war-like situation.
The statement added that for better public consumption the people of Maram Khullen Circle village will leave to the wisdom and conscience of the District Administration, SDO Tadubi, different civil organisations including UNC, NPO, SDSA, who had visited the spot with deep concern during and aftermath of the incident with the evidence left behind by the actions of the miscreants.
The allegations which stated that an attack on a Makhan woman who was cultivating was the cause of the incident and cattles destroying paddy saplings were concocted to cover up the misdeeds of the attackers, the statement added.
It also stated that Makhan is creating a slander campaign against Naojai village and to treat their silence and restraint even after the second attack as weakness will be miscalculated.
