Levelling serious allegation of misappropriating village fund, Mahoutera villagers have decided not to give village chief's post to the family members and relatives of former village chief ST Moses Kom.
Speaking at a press conference held at Manipur Press Club, Mahoutera Village United Development Party Chairman K Rangkhupchung Kom said that ST Moses Kom had misappropriated Rs 2.5 lakh, which was saved in village's account.
The said amount was earned from selling timber from village's protected forest between 2012 and April 2014, he added.
He further alleged that Moses Kom's younger brother ST Romar Kom had siphoned off Government fund meant for digging village well and construction of Anganwadi building in 2010-11 .
Levelling all these serious allegations, K Rangkhupchung Kom said that the village had decided not to give village chief's post to any member of Moses Kom's family and relatives.
