Kangpokpi, June 10 2014:
Alleging some individuals manipulating the tribal people for their own interest many a times using the name of ATSUM, the tribal apex body president, Emboi Serto today pointed out that indeed it is very unfortunate that ATSUM has been dragged into issues which did not concern the tribal people.
Emboi Serto further stated that a self-styled Chief Advisor sought Congress ticket with the endorsement of ATSUM in the 16th Lok Sabha election though he was denied a ticket has become an embarrassment for ATSUM while outrightly rejecting that electoral politics is never an agenda for ATSUM and will never be in its history of fighting for the right of the tribal.
The statement said that it was a shame that the so called chief advisor of ATSUM used the apex body's image in another incident and called a meeting of all the contractors under RMSA demanding 10% for withdrawing their pending bills.
Recalling the recent politicized incident between a minister and a government officer, which reportedly occurred under the influence of ATSUM, Emboi Serto maintained that ATSUM did not and will not intervene into internal affairs of the government.
While alleging the pseudo ATSUM of doing something beyond its jurisdiction Emboi Serto asserted that this personal attack is never subscribed by the tribal people.
He also alleged the pseudo ATSUM once again tried to intercede the work of the PMGSY by conniving with some tribal contractors that PMGSY implementation in the state was manipulated.
While informing the the tribal people not to be misguided or misled by some individuals in the name of ATSUM Emboi Serto lamented that ATSUM will continue to fight for the rights of the tribals but not as the expense of personal gain.
