16th State Level Pineapple Festival cancelled due to law & order situation

Imphal, July 13 2026: The Development Organisation, Andro Kendra has announced the cancellation of the 16th State Level Pineapple Festival Cum Seller and Buyer Meet & Youth Festival-2026 which was scheduled to be held on July 16, 2026 at Yairipok Thambalnu Keithel.

In a statement issued on Monday, the organising committee said the decision was taken after careful consideration of the current prevailing law and order situation in the State.

"Despite our best efforts to move forward with the event, we have determined that it is not possible to host the festival", the statement read.

The committee expressed disappointment to local farmers, stakeholders and visitors who were looking forward to the gathering.

It added that its commitment to promoting the region's pineapple industry remains steadfast and that alternative ways to support local growers and facilitate market connections are being explored for the rest of the year.

The organisation also thanked its partners and the local community for their support and understanding, and reaffirmed its dedication to the future growth of the region's agricultural sector.
