Amidst reports of Dengue outbreak in the State, 4 cases of Dengue have been detected at the border town of Moreh.
Three of the 4 cases were detected at a private diagnostic centre called Ultimate Diagnosis near PHC Moreh.
The fourth case was detected when the patient's sample was sent to SK Clinic and Diagnostic Centre after he was admitted to Moreh Hospital as he was showing symptoms of Dengue.
He is receiving further treatment at Moreh Hospital.
The patients who were found positive for Dengue are reportedly from Moreh Ward Number 5 (2) and one each from Moreh Ward Number 7 and 8.This Correspondent visited the Malaria unit of Moreh Hospital to enquire about the steps being taken up in the wake of detection of Dengue cases in the town but found that the unit was locked and no staff were there.
The diagnosis centre which provides free testing and diagnostic facilities to patients as per an agreement with the Government does not have Dengue testing facilities which have left the public with the private testing centres as their only option.
It is noteworthy to remember that Manipur already had 35 cases of Dengue by Wednesday with Imphal East (Chingmeirong area near Classic Grande) being the worst hit district with 22 cases.
