Nitesh Vyas reviews poll related issues in Bishnupur

Bishnupur, October 28 2021:
Nitesh Vyas, Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India visited Bishnupur today to review pre-SSR activities, preparedness for Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls 2022 and other poll related issues in the district in connection with the upcoming State Assembly Election, 2022.Madhusudan Gupta, Secretary (Manipur), Election Commission of India also accompanied Nitesh Vyas in the review meeting held in the presence of DEO/DC Bishnupur, ADC, SP and other officials of the district.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate of Bishnupur, Ranjan Yumnam, in exercise of the power conferred under the Arms Act, 1959 has directed all licensed arms holders of the district to deposit their licensed firearms at the nearest concerned Police Station on or before November 15 .
The order was issued in compliance with the direction from Home Department, Government of Manipur as a precautionary measure in view of the upcoming assembly election, 2022 .
The order further informed that any appeal against the order could be submitted with a written justification for retaining firearms by November 10 .
