Pabung Iboyaima

The 5th death anniversary of Pabung Iboyaima who is commonly known as the father of social work was observed today at Kwakeithel Akham Leikai.
At the observance which was organised by Pabung Iboyaima Memorial Trust (PIMT), floral tributes were offered to the photo of Pabung Iboyaima.
Speaking at the occasion, convenor of PIMT Th Ajit stated that Pabung Iboyaima contested the State Assembly election in 1972 on Manipur Nationalist Party ticket, but lost.
Though he didn't contest the election again, he worked for the welfare of the people as a social activist till his last breath, Ajit said and added that the deeds of Pabung Iboyaima manifested that public service is not limited to lawmakers and bureaucrats.
Saying that many leaders from CSOs joined electoral politics today, he urged them to continue working for public welfare.
Ajit further stated that Pabung Iboyaima was a vibrant leader who stood for a united Manipur.
Poirei Leimarol Apunba Meira Paibi, Manipur (PLAPM) president L Memchoubi; All Manipur Club Organisation (AMUCO) president Ph Nando; Committee on Human Rights (COHR) chairman Phulindro Konsam; All Manipur Women Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA) president Y Kunjarani; All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO) president BK Moirangcha and National Research Centre (NRC) president N Jibit also attended the programme.
