One death recorded, cases on the decline

Imphal, October 28 2021:
With the State registering 53 new cases of the total 1829 samples tested for Covid in the last 24 hours, the Covid test positivity rate (TPR) has dropped to 2.9 percent.
It is also the second time the State is seeing a below 3 TPR after a low 2.5 TPR was recorded on October 15 last.
As per a press release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room, 52 persons (30 males and 22 females) from the general population and a Central Armed Police Force Personnel tested positive for the virus at RIMS (4), JNIMS (9) and other testing centres (40) .
The 52 persons whose test result have returned positive are from Imphal East (15), Imphal West (28), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (2), Chandel (2) and Tamenglong (1), the release said.
Further, one unvaccinated person with co-morbidity succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours taking the State's cumulative number of deaths to 1918, it said.
Against the 53 cases logged today, 54 persons who were on home isolation (11) and at RIMS (7), JNIMS (10) and CCCs (26), were discharged, the release said.
With the new figures, the cumulative number of positive cases recorded in the State reached 123526 of which 119199 are from general population and 4327 are Central Security Personnel while the cumulative number of recovered cases is 120766 (General Population- 116459 and Central Security Personnel- 4307) .
The recovery rate now thus stands at 97.7 percent, it said.
501 D-type and 19 B-type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health facilities of the State as on October 27, the COVID-19 Common Control Room continued.
It further informed that 11108 doses of Covid vaccine was administered on October 27 taking the cumulative doses administered till date to 1927170 (1st dose - 1245284 and 2nd dose - 681886) .
With this, Manipur crossed the 35 percent second dose vaccination mark (35.19 percent) and 64.27 percent first dose vaccination.
As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, Jiribam leads in second dose vaccination with a cumulative figure of 58.45 percent among all the districts till October 27 as Imphal West follows suit with 52.64 percent.
Imphal West, Bishnupur, Chandel and Churachandpur have respectively achieved 45.18, 34.30, 27.64 and 36.74 percent of second dose vaccination respectively while Senapati, Tamenglong, Thoubal, Ukhrul and Tengnoupal have logged 10.97, 15.56, 30.50, 15.41 and 29.56 percent respectively.
Second dose vaccination in Kangpokpi, Kamjong, Pherzawl, Noney and Kakching have also reached 19.18, 13.16, 30.83, 25.43 and 42.89 percent respectively.
