AR conducts awareness programmes

Loktak Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted an awareness programme on importance of education at Ithing village in Bishnupur district on Thursday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the programme was organised to reach out to children and parents who have been deprived of basic educational facilities and conveyed them the importance of education for a better life and career.
Altogether 38 locals participated with great enthusiasm and acknowledged the efforts of Assam Rifles for such a thoughtful initiative, it added.
On the other hand, Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) conducted an awareness session regarding joining of defence academies at St John Gianmey School, Santhing village in Churachandpur district on Thursday.
The awareness session was organised to inform students about the opportunities in different selection exams, schedules and preparatory materials available in open domain for the same as part of "Bharat Ka Amrit Mahotsav" and motivate them to join the security forces, said the PRO in another release adding that a total of 75 students and eight teachers attended the event.
