Kangpokpi, February 10 2015:
Dismayed over the detention of State Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Francis Ngajokpa's convoy at Khudengthabi on February 9, the Kuki Students' Organization Sadar Hills has condemned the incident in the strongest term.
Thangminlen Kipgen, President KSO Sadar Hills said detention of a prominent tribal Minister with his team including Tengnoupal MLA Korungthang and Chief Engineer of State Rural Road Development Agency N.Bapuchand and other officials who were on an assessment tour towards the border town of Moreh to inspect PMGSY road development programmes in the area without any explicable reason for more than 10 minutes was condemnable, and the sardonic behavior of the AR personnel was also extremely unfortunate at the same time.
He continued that the incident visibly shows the pathetic Law and Order situation in the state which has become equally demoralizing particularly for the common people of the state.
KSO Sadar Hill President asked, "Is there any security assurance towards the common people on the part of the state Government while Law and Order situation of the state could not even secure a cabinet minister?" .
The people are doubtful enough after the Khudengthanbi incident on whether the life of the common people will be secure under such law and order or not, dotted Thangminlen.
It is time the state Government should review the law and order situation and initiate safety and unharmed measures on it so as to ensure tranquil security to the people-from the common people to bureaucrat and elected representatives, noted Thangminlen Kipgen.
While condemning the alleged waywardness of the 24 AR personnel led by its post Commander Major Rocky, the student body has drawn the attention of state Government, particularly Home Department to take immediate action against the erring AR officer and also ensure such uncouth incident does not reoccur in the future.
