9th Day 35th National Games : Manipur clinch 1 gold, 6 silver, 6 bronze

Manipur, on the 9th day of the 35th National Games 2015 today clinched one gold, six silver and six bronze medals in archery, triathlon, canoeing and kayaking and wushu.
In wushu, Sanglakpam Chaobi Devi picked clinched a gold medal in the women nan quan event scoring 8.13 points against Swechcha of Madhya Pradesh who scored 7.52 points.
In the archery event held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium at Ernakulam, Laishram Bombayla Devi and Th Sanatomba Singh secured a silver medal after losing against Deepika Kumari and Jayanta Talukdar of Jharkhand 2-6 in the final of recurve mixed team event.
In another final of recurve women team event, Laishram Bombayla Devi, Dawday Bhutia, Mutum Rupan and Thounaojam Surmala Devi bagged a silver medal after being defeated by Deepika Kumari, Reena Kumari, Laxmi Rani Majhi and Rimil Buriuly of Jharkhand 2-6 .

In the triathlon event, Mayengbam Chanu Linthoingambi bagged the silver medal in 1500m swimming, 40 km cycling and 10 km race while Puja Chaurushi of Gujarat stood first.
In canoeing and kayaking held at Vembanad Lake at Alappuzha, Arambam Gyananjit Singh finished second in 1000m men's single kayaking event and won a silver medal.
Salam Sunil Singh also finished second in 1000m men's single canoeing event and got the silver medal.
In wushu, Mayanglambam Punshiba Meetei stood second in the men's nan quan event behind Sajan Lama of Service Sport Control Board (SSCB) who stood first.
In triathlon, Ch Rani Devi of Manipur bagged a bronze medal.
L Mahesh also bagged a bronze medal in the triathlon men's event and Ksh Minachandra from Kakching of SSCB stood first.
In the triathlon team men's event, L Mahesh Singh, E Sushil Singh and Ng Dewanjit Singh settled for the third position and got a bronze medal.
In the 1000 m women's double canoeing event, Huirem Tampakleima and Yumnam Shyamasakhi won bronze and Mayanglambam Inaocha Devi and Kirti Kewat of Madhya Pradesh clinched gold.
In the 1000 m women's four canoeing event, Khwairakpam Indira, Yumnam Shyamasakhi Devi, Haobijam Sonika Devi and Oinam Yaiphabi finished at third and secured a bronze medal.
In the women sabre event of fencing, Wanglembam Reni Devi bagged a bronze medal.
In boxing, Soubam Santosh entered the quarter final beating Deva Naik of Goa 18-15 in light 60 kg men event.
Tomorrow, in the boxing semi-finals, E Memthoi Devi of Manipur will meet Heena Tokas of Delhi in the middle 75 kg women event.
H Chaoba Devi of Manipur will meet Sarika Kumari of Jharkhand in the 60 kg women event.
M Bishorjit Singh of Manipur will meet S Sai of Telangana in the welter 69 kg men event and Th Jeevan Singh will meet Chandan Kumar of Uttar Pradesh in the bantam 56 kg men event.
