'CSOs, writers must assist Govt in development of state'

Imphal, February 10 2015:
The main function of the Patriotic Writers' Forum's ten-day long observation organised in connection with its ninth anniversary was held at Manipur Press Club on Tuesday.
Padma Shri Laishram Nabakishore was the chief guest; president and vice-president of the forum, Jodhachandra Sanasam and Raghu Leishangthem were the presidium members; and associate professor of DM College of Arts, Moirangthem Priyobrata, was the special guest at the function.
The special features of the event was the release of the forum's half yearly publication 'Ngaklou' and an audio CD 'Ngamkhei Leirang Nungonbi' penned and produced by RK Sanahanbi, and felicitation of members of the forum who had been honored with awards.
Children who had participated at the poem writing, spot painting and solo dance competitions organised during the ten day celebration were also felicitated.
In his speech, Nabakishore stated that development of the state is not the responsibility of the ministers and MLAs alone.
Civil organisations, media and literary persons have immense roles to play.
He urged the writers not to limit their areas of creativity to nature alone.
