Thoubal, February 20 2023: The newly constructed Deen Dayal Upadhyay Multi Utility Youth Centre was inaugurated today at Yairipok Top Chingtha Pukhri Achouba Mapal under Andro Assembly Constituency.

It was attended by Chairman of Manipur Development Society (MDS) and Wangjing Tentha AC MLA, Paonam Brojen; Andro AC MLA, Th Shyamkumar; S Somorendro, CFO, MDS; S Rupakumar, Chief Engineer; K Inaocha Devi, secretary, BJP Manipur Pradesh and Member of Tulihal Zilla Parishad; Th Babita Devi, wife of Th Shyamkumar and M Babu, president, BJP Andro Mandal as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, Paonam Brojen expressed hope that the residents of Top Chingtha will take advantage of the amenities provided by the Youth Centre, which include gym facilities, and maintain the Youth Centre diligently.

He also lauded the support extended by the people of the area in the establishment of the Youth Centre and urged all to treat such developmental projects with care.

"Chief Minister N Biren Singh led Government's goal to ensure that the public maintains good health will be realised in Top Chingtha", he asserted.

Th Shyamkumar shared that the stretch of road from Azad Golai to Top Chingtha Nganba Keithel will be black-topped before the arrival of Yaoshang festival in order to alleviate the heavy traffic load of the festival season.

He added that currently construction of drains along the roads are underway and a survey will be launched in connection with road expansion in a day or two.

In this regard, he asserted that the Government will resort to legal recourse against those who pose obstacles in this undertaking and further appealed to the land owners to let go of their affected property amicably.

The MLA also spoke about alcohol legalisation and asserted that this does not mean widespread sale of alcohol in every nook and corner of the State.

He clarified that alcohol legalisation will prohibit random folks from selling liquor in every street corner or market.

Robertson Asem, MCS, Project Director, MDS, stated that Deen Dayal Upadhyay Multi Utility Youth Centre is part of the Government's initiative to ensure that youth of the State maintain good health.

Referring to the facilities provided at the Youth Centre, he said that the Centre will be equipped with computers and the necessary staff so that the public can get various documents such as domicile certificate, income tax certificate and residential certificate etc from the Youth centre itself.

"The Youth Centre will be continuously upgraded to meet the people's needs with changing times", he added.
