Kangpokpi, February 24 2015:
The All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) today showed disapproval over the extension of service of any retired Government officer or employee stating that it discriminates and robs the opportunity of the junior officers or employees.
Emboi Serto, President ATSUM asserted that the practice of extension of service of any Government officer or employee after superannuation of service is discrimination against the junior officers or employees and ATSUM is systematically against it.
Terming it as 'injustice' to the junior officers or employees, the Manipur High Court had also passed an order annulling the service extension of any Government officer or employee after superannuation of service claimed the ATSUM leader.
He continued that the service extension of a retired officer or employee is rightly termed as injustice because it gives leeway and sometimes completely no chance or opportunity to the junior.
Urging the state Government to bring a halt the practice of service extension of retired officers or employees in the State once and for all, ATSUM expressed hope that the Government will comply with the instruction and order of the Manipur High Court.
