Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Students' Union, Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTUSU-RCM) staged a protest rally on Tuesday pressing for its long-pending demands.
The agitating students started the rally from Adimjati and the rally culminated at the New State Assembly building.
IGNTUSU-RCM has been protesting against the Manipur Government for failing to meet its demands for weeks at the temporary Indira Gandhi National Tribal University-Regional Campus Manipur (IGNTU-RCM) complex here.
Talking to media persons on the sidelines of the demonstration, IGNTUSU General Secretary Lelen Vaiphei vowed to continue with the Union's stir until its demands are fulfilled by the State Government.

He said the Union has been staging several democratic forms of agitation over the demands since January 16 last, adding the Government has failed to give any response till date.
The Union has also shut down the administrative block of the temporary campus at Adimjati and construction of the varsity's main campus at Makhan from February 20. Vaiphei said, "The Union is shocked to learn that the tribal MLAs have shown more interest in the proposed Sangai University and Dhanamanjuri University than the tribal varsity" .
The key demands of the Union include immediate completion of the approach road, electrification and water supply connection at the permanent varsity campus at Makhan, Senapati District.
A Regular Director for the varsity and implementation of the University Reservation norms are the other two demands of IGNTUSU-RCM.
Students from Manipur University (MU) and DM College also participated in the rally supporting the demands.
Placards reading "Save tribal students," "Save education," We demand electricity," "We demand water supply," "We demand full time Director" and "Save IGNTU-RCM" were displayed at the rally by the student protesters.
All Naga Students' Union (ANSAM) and Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) had also served an ultimatum to the State Government on February 19 to complete the infrastructure development in the varsity campus at the earliest.
