PBS training on common NCD for ASHAs held at CHC Saikul

Kangpokpi, March 18 2019:
A five days training programme on Population-Based Screening (PBS) on common Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) for ASHAs was successfully conducted at Conference Hall, CHC Saikul, Kangpokpi District today.
The training programme was organized by District NCD Cell, District Health Society (DHS) Kangpokpi under the aegis of NPCDCS programme, NHM Manipur.
ASHAs, ASHA facilitators and CHO of Health and Wellness Centre upgraded PHSC (Primary Health Sub-Centre) under CHC Saikul namely, ASHAs of HWC Molkon, Utonglok & Thangal Sarung within Saikul participated the training program conducted during March 16 to 18.The training programme will commence again on March 26 till 28.Population-Based Screening of common NCDs involves population enumeration and screening of men and women over 30 years of age for timely identification and prevention of common NCDs like Diabetes, Hypertension, Cancers of the Breast, Cervix and Oral Cavity said Dr John Lupheng, MO CHC Saikul.
Dr Paotinlal Haokip, District Nodal Officer (DNO), District NCD Cell, DHS Kangpokpi District; Holminlun Khongsai, District NCD Epidemiologist, DHS Kangpokpi District; Mandakini, CHO (Community Health Officer) Utonglok and Geeta, CHO Molkon attended as resource persons in the training programme.
