CEO appeals

In order to ensure free, fair and transparent conduct of the election to the 17th Lok Sabha, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manipur, PK Singh has appealed the public and representatives of different political parties to desist from uploading/putting up unverified achievement and criticism of Ruling as well as the Opposition parties and intending candidates.
The Model Code of Conduct (MCC), which are in force from March 10 after the announcement of election schedule by Election Commission of India, has allegedly been violated on some social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter etc, said a statement of CEO, Manipur, PK Singh.
Saying that such practice is likely to misguide the voters while casting his/her vote, PK Singh appealed all not to forward unverified and malicious content over the social media.
Meanwhile, in another press release PK Singh appealed the Publishers of Newspapers and Cable Network Operators to publish/broadcast only the advertisements/paid new items with proper certification obtained from the concerned district Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) .
