Imphal, March 18 2019:
While ruling out direct contest of Shiv Sena in the Lok Sabha election in Manipur, the party's State unit has pledged support to BJP in both Inner Manipur PC and Outer Manipur PC.
Altogether 18 people joined Shiv Sena Senapati District Committee and they were accorded a warm reception at the party's Babupara office today.
Moreover, Lotha Pani and RK Soshang have been appointed as president and general secretary of Shiv Sena Senapati District Committee.
Speaking at the gathering, the party's State unit president M Tombi said that there is an alliance between Shiv Sena and BJP and as such, Shiv Sena would make all efforts to ensure that BJP candidates win both Inner Manipur PC and Outer Manipur PC.
He maintained that Shiv Sena decided not to field its candidates in either of the two seats in the interest of the people of Manipur.
Tombi went on to claim that there would be uniform development across the hills and valley of Manipur in case BJP wins both the Lok Sabha seats.
The State can make rapid strides towards development if there is synergy between the State Government and the Central Government, he said.
He also appealed to all concerned to ensure that the ensuing election is peaceful, free and fair.
The BJP is yet to name its candidates.
