Like in other parts of the country, Manipur chapter of the National Sanitization Campaign will be kick-started tomorrow.
Briefing media persons at the conference hall of the Old Secretariat this afternoon, Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga said that as directed by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the Cabinet Secretary informed the State Government this morning and the State Government has made necessary preparations for the campaign.
A meeting was held today with Principal Secretaries, DCs and SPs with a view to observe the campaign at the State as well as district levels.

The campaign which would be launched tomorrow would continue till October 23 .
From September 26 to September 30, cleanliness drive would be carried out at Government offices, police stations, schools, panchayats and urban local bodies.
The campaign would make use of audio-visual equipment and aid, van tableau and hoardings.
As part of the campaign, district level painting competitions would be organised on October 7 under the aegis of Rotary Club and Lions Club.
Street plays would also be staged on the same day.
On view of the Black Day observed by some militant groups on October 15, the World Hand Washing Day which was earlier scheduled on October 15 would be held the next day.
The campaign will close on October 23 with distribution of prizes.
IMC and MAHUD have also been instructed to keep all market areas neat and clean in collaboration with shopkeepers, said the Chief Secretary.
He further informed that the Municipal By-Law Amendment which was approved by the State Cabinet would be implemented shortly.
Under this by-law, any one found disposing garbage and waste materials at improper places can be fined up to Rs 2000, Lawmkunga added.
