One death, 425 new cases, 16.3 percent TPR reported
Hill dists continue to lag in vaccination

Imphal, January 29 2022:
One death, 425 new cases and 16.3 daily positivity rate marked the Covid infection graph in the State during the last 24 hours.
The hill districts continue to lag behind in vaccination coverage with Kangpokpi and Ukhrul occupying the last two spots on the vaccination coverage table.
Imphal West now tops the vaccination coverage with 59.82 percent of the eligible population having received the second dose and 75.27 percent the first dose.
Jiribam is a close second with 59.78 percent having received the second dose and 75.12 percent the first dose.
According to the COVID-19 Common Control Room, Manipur logged 425 new positive cases, including 10 personnel of the Central Armed Police Force in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of positive cases to 1,32,581 .
One person also succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours and the cumulative figure of deaths has now gone up to 2038, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting a report from the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee.
Though the deceased person had taken the second dose of the vaccine, he/she was suffering from co-morbidities and was from Imphal East.
The 425 new cases were detected while testing at RIMS (18), JNIMS (39) and other testing centres (368) .
The 415 civilians who tested positive in the last 24 hours are from Imphal East (98), Imphal West (187), Thoubal (29), Bishnupur (19), Kakching (11), Kam-jong (2), Kangpokpi (5), Ukhrul (6), Tamenglong (10), Tengnoupal (3), Jiri- bam (2), Senapati (4), Chan-del (8) and Churachandpur (31) .
The number of active cases presently is 3934 inclusive of 209 Central security personnel.
Necessary precautionary measures such as contact tracing and containment are in place, claimed the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
On the other hand, 294 persons were discharged from home isolation (168), RIMS (6), JNIMS (20) and CCCs (100) in the last 24 hours to take the total number of recovered cases to 1,26,609 including 4733 security personnel.
The recovery rate is 95.50 percent.
On January 28 a total of 11,948 vaccines were administered taking the cumul- ative number of vaccines administered to 24,79,919 including 10,42,114 second dose.
A total of 24748 precautionary dose has also been administered.
In the last 24 hours a total of 412 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 91 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres.
