Two succumb to Covid

The State's Covid-19 death toll has risen to 2120 after two individuals from Imphal West and Thoubal succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours.
As per a report of the State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee, both the victims had co-morbidities.
Even as one of them had taken the first dose of Covid vaccine, the other was not vaccinated.
With seven persons confirmed positive out of 876 samples tested for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, the State logged daily positivity rate of 0.8 per cent.
The positive cases belong to Imphal West (3), Thoubal (1), Churachandpur (1), Tamenglong (1) and Ukhrul (1) .
Meanwhile, 11 people who were undergoing treatment for Covid-19 under home isolation have been discharged as they have recovered.
The cumulative number of positive cases in the State now stands at 1,37,035 (general population 1,32,01 and Central security personnel 5,014) .
This figure includes 108 active cases (general population 106 and Central security personnel 2) and 1,34,807 recovered cases (general population 1,29,802 and Central security personnel 5,005) .
The recovery rate as on Thursday is 98.37 per cent.
Currently, 8 (out of 300) Covid beds at JNIMS and another 27 (out of 190) at RIMS are occupied.
Taking into account 2683 doses jabbed yesterday, the cumulative number of Covid vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 27,62,272 (first dose 15,25,438, second dose 11,72,763 and precautionary dose 64,071) .
Till Wednesday, 48.52 per cent of the State's total eligible population has been given both the first and second doses of Covid vaccine while 61.38 per cent has received the first dose.
