Daily deaths logged without break since Jan 20 ; 3 deaths, 322 cases reported

Imphal, February 02 2022:
Manipur logged three more deaths in the last 24 hours to take the cumulative number of deceased persons due to the virus to 2053 while 322 more persons tested positive during the same time period.
This is the 13th straight day that Manipur has been reporting daily deaths since January 20 this year.
The virus has claimed 38 lives from January 20 to February 2 this year.
The three deceased persons were from Imphal East (2) and Imphal West (1), said the COVID-19 Common Control Room quoting the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee today.
While two of the deceased were fully vaccinated and another had taken the first dose of the vaccine, all of them had co-morbidities.
The 322 new cases include 3 Central Armed Police Force, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room and added that their positive statuses were confirmed at RIMS (50), JNIMS (23) and other testing centres (249) .
The new cases were detected while testing a total sample of 2116 to take the daily positivity rate to 15.2 percent.
The 319 positive cases from amongst the civilians are from Imphal East (70), Imphal West (113), Thoubal (30), Bishnupur (19), Kakching (15), Kamjong (3), Kangpokpi (6), Tamenglong (10), Tengnoupal (2), Ukhrul (5), Noney (5), Senapati (4), Chandel (8) and Churachandpur (29) .
All necessary precautionary measures including containment and contact tracing are in place, claimed the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the addition of 322 new cases, the cumulative figure of positive cases has reached 1,33,905 including 4966 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is now 3943 inclusive of 161 Central security personnel.
On the other hand a total of 337 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (241), RIMS (15), JNIMS (32) and CCCs (49) to take the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,27,909 including 4798 Central security personnel.
The recovery rate is 95.52 percent.
On February 1, the number of vaccines administered was 10,036 and the cumulative number of vaccines administered is 25,20,471 inclusive of 10,53,338 second dose.
A total of 32,165 precautionary vaccines too have been administered.
Kangpokpi and Ukhrul continue to be the two districts with the lowest vaccination rate with only 20.01 percent of the eligible population having received the second dose in Ukhrul while at Kangpokpi it is 14.08 percent.Imphal West tops the list with 60.45 percent of the population having received the second dose, followed by Jiribam with 59.86 percent.
Kakching is a close third with 59.81 percent.
At Imphal East 56.62 percent have received their second dose.
