PTRC, CRAU, REYS romp in MNCA Elite Tournament

Imphal, March 17 2024: PTRC (Patsoi Part IV), CRAU (Khamnam Bazar) and REYS (Khwai Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai) romped to emphatic wins in the 8th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament on Sunday.

PTRC unleased a bowling power to crush Al-Ameen (Lilong) by 218 runs in their encounter at Lairenjam Public Ground, Imphal.

Opting to bat, PTRC posted a competitive 293/9.Chingakham Bidash Meitei led the way with a blistering knock of 104 off 92 balls.

Jotin Singh Pheiroijam also made significant contribution with 91, while Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam was unbeaten on 25 and Robinson Sougaijam contributed 24.The Patsoi side then produced a brilliant bowling display to skittle out Al-Ameen for 75 in 21.4 overs.

Jotin Singh Pheiroijam and Tamarland Pheiroijam equally shared six wickets between them as Khaidem Joyraj Meitei claimed two scalps and Deepak chipped in with one to steer PTRC to a thumping 218-run victory.

Only Khulakpam Shahadat Ali (18), Mohammed Shamir Khan (12) and Md Sharoz Khane (11) managed to reach double digits in the Lilong side's chase.

Earlier, Md Karim and Mohd Sagir Ahamed picked up three wickets each for Al-Ameen.

CRAU, on the other hand, enjoyed a resounding 188-run triumph over SCCC (Singjamei Thongam Leikai) at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur, Thoubal.

CRAU chose to bat and scored 244/9 as Lamabam Jotin Singh top-scored with 94, followed by Dennis Khangenbam (37), Ph Jodash (28) and Potshangbam Ronil (15), with Sanatomba K, Khangenbam Bimol Singh and Khumanthem Prakash Singh all scoring 13 in the innings.

Then, it was the bowling unit that made short work of SCCC's batting order.

Bm Sabakhan emerged as the star bowler as his stunning spell of five wickets helped CRAU bundle out SCCC for a mere 50 in 15.4 overs for their comprehensive win.

Takhellambam Kala Singh and Lamabam Ajay Singh, who both grabbed two wickets, and Heishnam Joyhenba Meitei, who got one, all contributed to the Khamnam Bazar's success.

Earlier, Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum snapped three wickets and Lishan Meitei Khaidem took two for SCCC.

REYS hammered out an eight-wicket thrashing of PTCC (Patsoi Part III) at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Imphal.

REYS dismissed PTCC for 100 in 39.5 overs and they went on to complete the chase in 16 overs.

Three wickets each from Sougrakpam Shangkar Singh and Kiran Laishram, two from Sapam Bikash Singh and one each from Md Basir Rahman and Pinkey Singh Sanasam laid the foundation for REYS' win.

In their response, Sougrakpam Shangkar Singh (55), Jaali Ahmed Chisti (27), Md Basir Rahman (5 not out) and Laishram Daniel Meitei (5 not out) helped REYS reach the mark in 16.3 overs with eight wickets remaining.
