AR holds security meet

Imphal, June 04 2026:
Assam Rifles organised a Security Meet today in Imphal West to strengthen civil-military cooperation and promote dialogue with local residents on peace and stability in Manipur.
Around 57 civilians attended, including the MLA of Thanga Assembly Constituency, village elders, youth representatives, women leaders, and other community members.
As per a release issued by HQ IGAR (South), discussions focused on the prevailing security situation, communal harmony, curbing anti-social activities and drug abuse among youth, and yigilance against attempts to disturb peace.
Participants also raised developmental concerns such as infrastructure, education, welfare schemes, and livelihood opportunities for the younger generation.
The meet stressed timely information-sharing and cautioned against misinformation on social media, urging reliance on authentic sources.
The gathering also highlighted Assam Rifles' humanitarian and civic initiatives, including medical camps, educational aid, youth engagement, and welfare projects.
Attendees appreciated the interaction and reaffirmed support for joint efforts to maintain peace, underscoring the enduring bond between Assam Rifles and the people of Manipur.
