NE India Equip and Classic Powerlifting C'ship : H Hritikraj, L Prashant bag two medals apiece

Hanjabam Hritikraj and Longjam Prashant picked up two medals apiece for Manipur at the North East India Equipped and Classic Powerlifting Championship 2023-24 held from January 5 to 7 at Silchar, Assam.
The Manipur team finished with 7 medals at the championship.
Hanjabam Hritikraj won a bronze medal in the classic powerlifting event for 66 kg category by recording 175 kg in squad, 122.5 kg in bench press and 229 kg in deadlift to amass 517.5 kg.
He however secured a silver medal in the equipped section by posting 202.5 kg lift in squad, 125 kg in bench press and 220 kg in deadlift to finish with a total lift of 547.5 kg.

Notably, H Hritikraj is the son of senior Sub-Editor of The Sangai Express, Hanjabam Rajendrakumar of Wangkhei Khunou Soibam Leikai.
Meanwhile Longjam Prashant lifted 160 kg in squad, 102.5 kg in bench press and 190 kg in deadlift to win a bronze medal in classic powerlifting event for 105 kg category and won a silver medal in the equipped section by posting 210 kg in squad, 110 kg in bench press and 220 kg in deadlift.
The other medals were sealed by Irikhomba Elangbam (silver) who scripted 110 kg in squad, 70 kg in bench press, 130 kg in deadlift in the 59 kg men's equipped section, Tensubam Jestin (silver) who finished with a total lift of 575 kg in the men's 74 kg category and Silky Thangjam who managed total lift of 290 kg in the women's 84 kg category.
