Source: Chronicle News Service

Imphal, January 04 2024: TCMDC, CDCC, AKSDO and SSU made light work of their respective opponents in their league matches of the 4th MNCA Luwangpokpa T-20 Trophy 2023-24 on Thursday.

TCMDC inflicted a crushing 153-run defeat on SHADOW in their meeting at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

Sarangthem Priyobrata Singh's 70, Suraj Kharib-am's unbeaten 42, Arshad Ali Shah's unbeaten 20 and Moirangthem Sunanda Singh's 11 helped TCMDC posted a total of 183/4 after opting to bat.

TCMDC then followed it up with a lethal bowling attack to skittle out SHADOW for just 30 in 11.2 overs.

N Arbin Singh led the scalping for TCMDC with 5 wickets while Sarangthem Priyobrata Singh picked up 3 wickets, and Suraj Kharibam took one to hand their side a comprehensive victory.

SHADOW's miserable performance in their run chase saw three batters get dismissed for ducks as only Sagatpam Lanchenba (14) managed to reach double figures.

Earlier, Sagatpam Lanchenba claimed 2 wickets while Reolin Oinam and Rk Nishi-kanta bagged one each for SHADOW.

CDCC strolled to a 97-run win over PSC at Lairenjam Public Ground.

Electing to bat, CDCC amassed a competitive score of 206/3 with efforts from Kshetrimayum Robert (51 not out), Md Ataur Rahaman (51 not out), Thounaojam Rakesh Singh (34), Priyojit Nareng-bam (30) and Konjengbam Monish (26) .

In the process, the squad lost 2 wickets to Chandreshwar Shah and one to Ibungomacha Hijam.

In reply, PSC found it difficult to cope with CDCC's well-organised bowling assault and their chase ended in 19.4 overs for just 109 runs as contributions from Vishwamitra Laishram (22), Laimayum Prasantajit Sharma (20), Chandreshwar Shah (14 not out) and Khuraijam Sagarjit Singh (14) proved too little.

In CDCC's triumph, Fm Sharif claimed 4 scalps, Kshetrimayum Robert and Md Ataur Rahaman snapped 2 wickets apiece, and Mand-ingbam Surjit Singh took one wicket.

AKSDO, meanwhile, thrashed YWC by 86 runs at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.

AKSDO elected to bat and scored 200/2 and then they bowled out YWC for 114 in the 20th over.

In their innings, Chinglensana Moirangthem shone with the bat, smashing 99 off 64 balls.

He took 2 wickets.

Winchelly Laishram emerged as the chief destroyer in AKSDO's commanding win.

Akash Laishram and Sana-thoi Ningthoujam grabbed 2 wickets each while Chaoren Khundrakpam and Rosan Laishram got one each.

At Oriental College, SSU beat IBSA by 33 runs.

SSU chose to bat and managed 143/5.In the innings, Ningombam Sanjoy topscored with 55, followed by Sougrakpam Douglas (32 not out), Robertson Th (21) and Anand Mangang (15).They then bundled out IBSA in 18.4 overs for 110.Bollanath led the SSU bowling, claiming 3 wickets as Sougrakpam Douglas, Ningombam Sanjoy and Saikhomba Thongam captured 2 wickets each, with Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma taking one.

In IBSA's chase, Khundrakpam Lemba Singh scored a fighting 45 in vain.
