Even as the situation remained tense in some places with sporadic incidents of firing, as many as 408 persons were detained for violating restrictions imposed to maintain law and order, said Manipur Police Control Room.
Situation is tense in some places with sporadic incidents of firing during the last 24 hours, but normal in most districts, said the PCR.
State and Central security forces carried out search operations in vulnerable and fringe areas of both the valley and hill districts and recovered 17 arms, 12 ammunition and 10 bombs.
Besides conducting patrolling, flag march, cordon and search operations, around 124 checkpoints have been installed in different districts and checking has been intensified round the clock to prevent untoward incidents, said the PCR.
Meanwhile, movement of essential items is ensured along National-37 .
Strict security measures have been taken up in all vulnerable locations.
Security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, added the PCR.
The Police Control Room asked all concerned to despot arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or security forces immediately and appealed to the public to extend all possible help in bringing normalcy in the State and avoid spreading and believing in rumours.
