Nupi Marup seeks safeguard of territorial integrity

Imphal, June 29 2023: All Manipur Nupi Marup organised protest at Irawat Bhawan, BT road on Thursday to demand authorities concerned protect the territorial integrity of Manipur.

Regarding the protest, Nupi Marup general secretary L Sumatibala told media persons that people want immediate end to the ongoing war and entire women of the state are keeping vigil on the roads day and night.

However, in total disrespect of women spending sleepless nights on the roads, chief minister N Biren Singh emerged from his 'hideout' after two months and asked women through television to take rest in their homes as if nothing is happening in the state, Sumatibala said.

According to Sumatibala, people of Manipur want immediate end to the ongoing war but both the state and central governments are unable to resolve the conflict.

She said that entire people of Manipur are wondering as to why one of the most powerful countries of the world is unable to resolve the ongoing crisis.
