Protest staged against demand for separate administration in Manipur

Apunba Thongam Leikai Lup Singjamei under the aegis of All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) today staged a sit-in protesting the demand for separate administration in Manipur at Singjamei Parking.
Speaking on the sidelines of the sit-in, Kakchingtabam Bhogendro convenor Apunba Thongam Leikai Lup Singjamei shared that the demand for separate administration is absurd and the people of Manipur cannot agree to such demands at any cost.
Highlighting the importance of unity in this crucial juncture, he mentioned that four clubs of Singjamei area namely SROY Club, New Age Club, SVDO, SUO Club and three Meira Lups namely Samaj Kanba Nupi Lup, Sinlam Sintha Nupi Lup and Yaipha Nupi Lup came together to constitute the apex body, Apunba Thongam Leikai Lup.

He continued that it is high time for all the clubs and organisations of the State to come forward and stand united towards the common goal of protecting the integrity of Manipur.
Placards and banners with the slogans such as, "No Separate Administration in Manipur", "Stop playing communal card", "Flush out Kuki terrorist from Manipur", "Stop militarisation in Manipur", "Government should protect civilians", "Withdraw SoO immediately", etc were displaced at the sit-in.
Moreover, AMUCO continued its campaign against the demand for a separate administration within Manipur with public meetings at several places today.
The public meetings, under the banner, No Separate Administration, were held at KYWC Community Hall, Kamong Maisnam Mayai Leikai by KYWC; and at Umathel Keithel jointly by Kakching District United Clubs' Organisation (KADUCO) and Umathel Meira Paibi, said AMUCO in a statement.
AMUCO ex-president Ito Tongbram, AMUCO president Ph Nando Luwang, Ch Usharani advisor AMAWOVA, Dr H Herojit vice president NRC, Kh Ramananda secretary general YOFFS, Ib Luwang advisor AMESCO, and S Leirangtombi vice president COHR among others participated in the meetings.
The meetings discussed the current crisis, issues concerning SoO (Suspension of Operation) and demand for separate administration.
