Relief items distributed; cash aid donated to Shija

Imphal, June 29 2023:
Relief Centre for the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons, Manipur distributed one wheelchair, two blankets and one chair commode for differently abled persons staying in relief camp at Moirang College multipurpose hall on Thursday.
The items were distributed in the presence of Centre's media advisor Nimol Ningombam, rehabilitation officer Karnajit Khoibam and women & child welfare officer Ph Victoria Devi.
Meanwhile, residents of Binselu village, Cachar, Assam donated a sum of Rs 44,500 to Shija Hospitals & Research Institute Pvt Ltd (SHRI) to help the hospital provide free treatment to
victims of the ethnic violence.
In a release, SHRI business development manager Lourembam Premjit Singh informed that in-spite of having only 45 households, meira paibi activists and youths of the village pooled in the money to aid those affected by the violence.
Premjit recounted that on June 9 Shija Hospitals announced free treatment facilities to those injured due to the prevailing violence, regardless of ethnic background.
Ideal Women Welfare Meira Paibi, Narankonjin Mamang Leikai, Imphal West district also distributed relief items and monetary assistance to Urup Minority Girls Hostel, Thoubal on Thursday.
A relief camp set up at the Girls Hostel relief camp is currently sheltering 151 people displaced from Moreh and Churachandpur.
Manipuri Sahitya Parish-ad Assam in coordination with COCOMI also extended financial assistance to displaced people taking shelter at Government Dance College, Palace Compound on Thursday.
The assistance was handed over by Parishad's vice president Nameirakpam Bidya Baiun, Hojai district committee president Tensubam Manihar and vice president Khoirom Nabadip.
Tera Boys Alumni 1980 also provided relief materials to the displaced people taking shelter at
Shamurou Government High School.
