Sangma to arrive on June 28

National People's Party (NPP) today convened a party meeting at Shillong to discuss the prevailing situation in Manipur.
The meeting was hosted by NPP National president and Meghalaya Chief Minister Konrad Sangma at his bungalow in Shillong.
A five member NPP Manipur unit delegation led by former Deputy CM and NPP National vice-president Y Joykumar attended the meeting which lasted for around one and half hours (6 pm to 7.30 pm) and deliberated on the matters pertaining to the State.
The other members of the delegation from the State who attended the meeting included NPP Manipur State unit president N Kayisii, general secretary (organisation) RK Rameshwar, vice president Urikhinbam Ramesh and National People's Youth Front Manipur State president Laitonjam Jayananda.
According to a delegate present at the meeting, the NPP National president apprised about the all-political party meeting which was hosted by the Union Home Minister yesterday to discuss possible solutions to the prolonged communal conflict in Manipur.
To facilitate restoration of peace which has been elusive for over 50 days, the NPP National party president is set to arrive in Imphal on June 28 .
During his Imphal visit, Konrad Sangma will call on Governor Anusuiya Uikey; Chief Minister N Biren and other civil and political leaders, the delegate added.
