Mass meetings, sit-in-protests continue

Continuing its mass meetings on 'No separate administration in Manipur', All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) along with local organisations held meetings in different areas.
In a release, AMUCO informed that the mass meetings were conducted at Khoyathong ABC mamang, Khoyathong Andolan Keithel, Meira Shang Meitei Langol Type III, Oinam Sawombung Dam Makhong, Heibongpokpi Lamkhai, Lairenkabi parking, Phayeng Keithel and Chongtham Kona community hall.
Advisors and executive of AMUCO, COHR, AMAWOVA, Irabot Foundation, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Manipur, NRC, AMESCO and YOFFS spoke at the meetings on different topics including 'Stop militarisation' 'Stop playing communal card', 'Withdraw SoO immediately' and 'Flush out Kuki terrorists from Manipur', it added.
Meanwhile, in support of the series of sit-in protests under the aegis of Apunba Tengbang Lup, Patsoi Kendra, an apex body of 21 clubs and 21 Meira Paibi associations along NH-37; Young Progressive Club (YPC) and Apunba Meira Paibi Lup of Takyel Kolom Leikai along with HWWA, Heinoupok NC Road staged a sit-in at Takyel Kolom Leikai on Sunday.
Speaking on the sidelines, Apunba Meira Paibi Lup secretary N Kabita Devi strongly condemned the silence of PM Narendra Modi over the violence in Manipur which was been raging for over 50 days.
She said that as the state MLAs and ministers are unable to put aside their differences, it is up to the people to go Delhi and launch hunger strike to ensure their voices are heard.
During the sit-in, the protestors shouted slogans and held placard/banners, "Implement NRC in Manipur", "Include Meitei in ST List", "Safeguard
Manipur's Integrity", "Remove Assam Rifles", and "Withdraw SoO with Kuki militants" .
The women members of Meitei Pan-gal community of Oinam Wangoi also staged a sit-in protest on Sunday under the aegis of Development Committee Oinam Wangoi.
The protestors chanted and held placards inscribed with slogans, "We want peace", "Resolve violence at earliest", "Safeguard Manipur's integrity", "Save the people of Manipur", ' What is centre's agenda in prolonging unrest in Manipur? ", "Save the career of students", and "We don't want war" .
On the other hand, Heirangoithong Apunba Lup set on fire effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, union home minister Amit Shah, chief minister N Biren and BJP Manipur State president Sharda near Heirangoithong Bazar on Sunday evening.
Patsoi Part-4 Meira Paibi and Lain-ingthou Naothingkhong Pakhangba Development Committee also organised a sit-in protest at the community hall of Patsoi Part-4 on Sunday.
Similar sit-ins were staged by the joint body of Wahengbam Leikai, Salam Leikai and Meino Leirak at Sagolband Meino Leirak and at Phayieng, Lairenkabi and Heibongpokpi and Apunba Meitei Lup at their respective areas on Sunday.
During the sit-ins, the protestors shouted slogans and held placard/banners, "Implement NRC in Manipur", "Include Meitei in ST List", "Safeguard Manipur's Integrity", "Remove Assam Rifles", "Withdraw SoO with Kuki militants", "Deport Kuki-Chin Refugees from Manipur", "No separate administration in Manipur", "We want peace", "Resolve violence at earliest", "Save the people of Manipur", "What is centre's agenda in prolonging unrest in Manipur? ", "Save the career of students", and "We don't want war" .
