No question of PR: BJP Manipur

BJP Manipur Pradesh spokesperson Elangbam Johnson has said that there will be no question of imposing President's Rule in Manipur and called upon people to work collectively for restoring peace and normalcy collectively.
Addressing media persons at party's Thambal Shanglen, Johnson said Manipur is currently in the grip of a challenging political situation and many queries are being raised about imposition of President's Rule.
However, there is no question of imposing President's Rule, he claimed.
While stating that rapid spread of rumours amid the restive situation is adding to the anxiety of the people, Johnson said there had been some unwanted incidents after rumours incited mob violence.
Amidst such rumours, a person named Nandalal used the name of BJP and spread a rumour on social media platform that party members have resigned.
However, video recording uploaded on social media has been seized while a police complaint has been lodged, he said while appealing to people not to indulge in activities which would drag people to wrong direction.
BJP Manipur Pradesh general secretary K Saratkumar, who also attended the press conference, told media persons that a ministerial team led by chief minister N Biren Singh met Union home minister Amit Shah and the latter issued firm instructions to bring peace in the state.
