Imphal, June 25 2023:
Asserting that they are not under United Naga Council (UNC), Federation of Haomee (FoH) said that misquotation of the resolutions taken by Tangkhuls and Meeteis at a joint meeting held at Chan-drakhong, Imphal East is irrational.
A release jointly issued by FoH secretary general Yazing Vicisy and president Sapamcha Jadumani recalled that the Federation of Haomee and Federation of Civil Societies visited Irong Tangkhul village after complaints by village headman Shinglai Shankahao of exchange of firing.
Later, a meeting was convened with Tangkhul and Meetei villagers at Chandrakhong, it continued.
While stating that Nagas and Meiteis have been helping one another in times of need, the release said that FoH has been working to protect the indigenous tribals from attacks by Kuki foreigners.
UNC should also not make comments without knowing thoroughly.
Stressing the need for extending cooperation ip every aspect, FoH clarified that the meeting at Chandrakhong was convened after thorough discussion with the authority concerned.
