Imphal, June 25 2023:
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is deeply disturbed by the changing dynamics of the violence seen in the valley districts of Manipur, according to Chief Minister N Biren.
Chief Minister N Biren went to Delhi and held a meeting with the Union Home Minister today.
Briefing media persons at Imphal airport on his return from Delhi this evening, N Biren said that the Union Home Minister expressed deep concern over the directionless violence and civil unrest seen in the valley districts of Manipur which portrays a state of complete lawlessness.
The changing dynamics of violence and unrest seen in the valley districts after exchange of fire at fringe and peripheral areas had subsided has become a matter of serious concern to the Union Home Minister, Biren said.

The Union Home Minister raised the issues and incidents of burning down the residence of Union Minister of State for External Affairs RK Ranjan, attack at CAF&PD Minister L Susindro's house, destruction of Government properties, arson, targeting innocent people and hampering movement of security forces.
"We gave a report of the several measures taken up by the State Government to restore peace and normalcy in the State.
We also told the Union Home Minister about our puzzlement over the changing dynamics of the civil unrest and violence", Biren conveyed.
He said that they went to Delhi to take some advice/suggestions from the Union Home Minister on the prevailing crisis.
"The initial phase of the violence was highly political and sensitive but we cannot say what is happening now", the Chief Minister said.
The situation is so chaotic that many people are not recognising even elected leaders as well as public leaders, he said.
The Union Home Minister was deeply concerned with the overall situation of the valley districts, he said.
Amit Shah reportedly assured the Chief Minister that he would take care of the attacks carried out by militants at peripheral areas.
To a query, Biren said that he would invite all stakeholders to a meeting in order to bring peace and normalcy in the valley districts.
It's time for all the MLAs, political leaders, CSOs and other stakeholders to sit together and identify those areas where all must work together, Biren said.
He appealed to all concerned to stop seeking political advantages at such a critical situation of the State.
Biren also appealed to all the people to support every effort aimed at restoring peace and normalcy in the State.
To a query regarding the 10 Kuki MLAs' demand for separate administration, Biren maintained that there is no change to the Union Home Minister's position on the integrity and territorial boundary of Manipur.
Separate administration is not acceptable under any circumstances, he asserted.
There is also no change in the Union Home Minister's commitment to take up strongest actions against Kuki militants who violate SoO ground rules, Biren said.
To another query, Biren appealed to all the people to inform the Government if any one has any apprehension of possible attacks from militants at peripheral areas.
The Government will fight the militants in a befitting manner, he said.
Biren said that army and paramilitary forces have been deployed at vulnerable, peripheral areas.
The Government has been working hard to enforce rule of law and investigation into past incidents is underway, he added.
