The Kuki Inpi Jiribam-Tameng-long-Noney has vehemently opposed the State Govern-ment's purported plan to station a unit of State force at Joujangtek village under Noney district.
Henminlal Singson, information & publicity secretary of Kuki Inpi Jiribam-Tamenglong-Noney said "We have heard that the Government of Manipur is planning to station a unit of State force, i.e Indian Reserve Battalion or the IRB, at Joujangtek Kuki village under Noney district.
He said that at this critical juncture of the ongoing ethnic violence, the tribals, particularly, the Kuki-Zo people had completely lost trust in the State machinery, especially, the Police Department which could not protect its own head from the present ethnic violence.
The Kuki Inpi Jiribam-Tamenglong-Noney strongly advised the State Government to abort any plan or initiative to set up or station State forces at Joujangtek village or nearby villages, he added.
