KUM, Kabui Customary Council appeal

Kabui Union Manipur (KUM) and Kabui Customary Council have appealed to the State Government to not give monetary aid for Gaan Ngai which is a sacred festival for the Kabui community to any other communities.
A statement jointly signed by K Gangumei Kabui, president Kabui Customary Council and Athoi Kamei, secretary general KUM, informed that Gaan Ngai is a customary festival of Kabui which has been observed from time immemorial.
KUM and Kabui Customary Council also expressed concern over the alleged act of some communities to destroy & copy the age-old traditions and culture of Kabuis.
KUM and Kabui Customary Council further appealed to the Government to take up measures regarding the matter in a fair manner and provide monetary aid for the Gaan Ngai festival to the Kabui community.
