Kangpokpi, January 28 2024:
Stating that it has received information of a plan of the state government to station a unit of IRB at Joujangtek village in Noney district, the Kuki Inpi Jiribam-Tamenglong-Noney vehemently opposed the plan and demanded the government to abort the plan in the larger interest of peace.
Henminlal Singson, information & publicity secretary of Kuki Inpi Jiribam-Tamenglong-Noney said that at this critical juncture of the ongoing ethnic violence, the Kuki-Zo people have completely lost trust in the state machinery, especially, the police department which could not protect its own head from the present ethnic violence.
He also said that the recent developments in Moreh are clear examples of the presence of state forces while terming the escalation of violence in the border town as a direct impact of sending reinforcement.
The organisation strongly demanded the state government to abort the plan stating that it would be detrimental to the interest of the people in the area rather than doing any good.
He also said that any matter arising out of the government's insensitivity to the people will be the sole responsibility of the government.
