CRPF donates sports items, helps IDPs

Imphal, November 02 2023: Under its civic action programme, 69 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (GRPF) of M&N Sector, distributed sports items to two clubs on Thursday.

The event witnessed distribution of sports shoes for volleyball and football, volleyball nets, footballs, sports gear, shot put equipment, javelin throw, and carom boards.

These items were handed over to Model Club, Heingang Kon-tha Makha Leikai and Social Integrity Club, Mongjam, both located in Imphal East district.

Furthermore, the battalion also extended support to the internally displaced persons (IDPs) living in relief camps, who hailed from Sapermeina and Motbung in Kangpokpi district.

Relief materials such as rice, pulses, oil, sugar, tea leaves, and biscuits were provided to the displaced individuals.

Battalion commandant Ba-jrang Lal was chief guest of the event also attended by senior officers and jawans of the unit, alongside the secretary and members of both clubs.

In his address, the chief guest explained that purpose of the programme was to assist underprivileged athletes and encourage the development of their talents.

He highlighted CRPF's commitment to serving society, not only as peacekeepers but also as promoters of welfare and harmony among the people in the areas they operate.
