LS poll candidate consults Haochong denizens

K Timothy Zimik, IRS (retired) and former principal chief commissioner of income tax, an intending candidate for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, held a public consultative meeting on Friday at Haochong Sub-Divisional Headquarters, Noney district.
Speaking at the meeting, Timothy Zimik promised that if elected in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, he will fight for the economic uplift of Manipur's hills and economic reforms in tribal areas with a budget of 51 percent.
He also stated that the delimitation difficulties in tribal regions and the long-pending issue would be brought to the attention of the relevant authorities.
The intending MP candidate also told the gathering that he would prioritise agro-based industries and horticulture farming in order to generate incomes for poor farmers.
If elected, he will work for early implementation of the Village Authority Act through various amendments, Timothy assured, further promising establishment of a central residential school at Haochong, prioritise road connectivity in rural areas, and provision of drinking water in Haochong area.
