Workshop concludes

The 10-day workshop on "Dance and Music, Fine Arts, Food Preparation, Environment, Recitation and Handwriting" for day boarders of Grace Cottage Academy, Kakching and class IX and X students organised by Grace Cottage Cultural and Educational Development Foundation, Kakching concluded on Sunday.
The valedictory function held at the Academy was attended by Kakching MLA M Rameshwar, Academy president M Ibohal and advocate Kshetrimayum Sarankumari as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
In his address, MLA Rameshwar stressed on the need for the children to strive for enhancing their knowledge base and the teachers not to relent from catering to needs of the students.
While stating that education and knowledge are invaluable human in contemporary society, the MLA also called upon the teacher community to update knowledge and impart the best education to their students.
He further said that if the students cannot utilise the knowledge gained, then education will serve no purpose.
Therefore, the teachers should make sure that they guide the students on how to utilise their knowledge.
Rameshwar also appealed to the student community to follow, respect and promote culture and tradition in addition to playing their part in upholding the territorial integrity of Manipur, without which a community will cease to exist.
Students presented various cultural programmes including Maibi Laichmg Jagoi, Holi Pala, Thougal Jagoi, Radha Abhisar, Leima Jagoi and poem recitations during the workshop.
