4th Korean studies workshop commences

The 4th Korean studies workshop for North East Indian educators, which is being organised by Manipur University Department of Foreign Language (Korean) commenced from Thursday at the court hall of Manipur University.
The inaugural function of the two-day workshop was attended by Manipur University vice chancellor Prof N Lokendra Singh, Department of Foreign Language (Korea) MU Prof Hyunkyung Lee, Embassy of Republic of Koren in India deputy chief of mission minister Sang Woo Lim, Korea Foundation, Jakarta office director Hyun-Soo Choi and University and Higher Education Manipur director Dr Rangitabali Waikhom as dais members.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Prof Hyungkyung Lee informed that five years integrated MA programme for Korean Language will begin from the coming academic session.
The workshop will help the people learn about the relationship between India and Korea including history, culture, economy and history.
High School and Higher Secondary School history and social studies teachers will benefit from the workshop and help in expanding their knowledge-base on the history, economy, society and culture of Korea, Lee observed.
