Chingarel Tezpur women slam minister Susindro

Strongly condemning the action of CAF&PD minister and Khurai AC MLA L Susindro during an incident at Chingarel Tezpur on Friday night; Meira Paibi groups of Chingarel Tezpur staged a sit in protest on Saturday.
Speaking on the sidelines, Sangomsang Meira Paibi secretary Bidyalakshmi, while terming the incident at Chingarel Tezpur on Friday night as unfortunate, recounted that following an incident in Sabungkhok and Yaingangpokpi area, the locals tried to halt the vehicle of minister Susindro, who was returning from Sabungkhok side and tried to talk to him.
As the minister himself came from the spot, he was highly tensed, while the people were equally incensed with the prolonged violence, leading to prolonged misunderstanding and further chaos.
The minister fired seven blank rounds in self-defence but injured a woman in the process.
The Meira Paibi activists managed to take the situation under control and reached an understanding, following which it was discussed to go to the minister 's residence for further talks.
Amid this, a large number of youth came on vehicles and started setting fire to the office of BJP Imphal East Mandal in Ishirou, Kangla Sangomsang and a warehouse belonging to the MLA (Susindro).
The mob also set fire to the PHED pipes stacked nearby Phaknung and Kangla.
The Meira Paibi members were unable to control the rampaging youth and as such, team of Manipur Police Commando and RAF, who had arrived after hearing reports of the incident, started firing tear gas shells to disperse the crowd.
During the chaos, three women sustained injuries, she conveyed.
Bidyalakshmi then condemned the RAF personnel for vandalising a parked Bullet (MN 01 AE 3798), belonging to one of the volunteers of the relief camp opened at Neta Club Campus of Kangla Sangomsang.
She, thus, demanded for strict action against the RAF personnel involved.
The Meira Paibi secretary further demanded the minister to help convene a meeting with the Meira Paibi groups concerned within 48 hours for ironing out differences over Friday's incident.
