Many continue to extend humanitarian aid to relief camps

Many continue to extend relief items to the people who have been displaced by the ongoing civic disturbances in the State.
A team of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) led by its president Ningthoujam Popilal, working president Avinash Naorem and IYC Manipur in-charge Sarifa Rahman, today extended humanitarian aid to the people taking refuge at the shelter camps opened in Kumbi Awang Leikai High School and Langmeidong Higher Secondary School.
In a release, MPYCC informed that the relief materials were provided to help the people who have been suffering due to the present unrest in the State.
MPYCC shared that during the visit, the inmates narrated their plight and expressed discontentment over the lack of support by the Government.
"They appealed to the State and Central Government to bring an end to the violence and restore peace & normalcy in Manipur at the earliest", it added.
In continuation of the humanitarian aid provided to the people affected by the present unrest, South Asian Fraternity, New Delhi and Manipur Unity today distributed relief materials at the shelter camp opened in Kanto Sabal L.P School.
In a release, South Asian Fraternity, Manipur Unit, expressed concern over the present unrest and urged the authorities concerned to bring back peace in the State.
Moreover, Peace & Integrity Committee, Sadokpam Leikai also handed over a monetary aid of Rs 30,000 to the people of Phayeng area who are camping day and night to safeguard the public.
In a release, United Development Club informed that the monetary aid was provided with contributions from the people of Sagolband Sadokpam Leikai.
Notably, the Peace & Integrity Committee, Sadokpam Leikai, is a conglomerate of United Development Club, Chaokhat-Thourang Nupi Khutpu and Sadokpam Leikai Singlup.
Wide Angle Social Development Organisation along with All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) also distributed relief materials at Akampat Relief Camp in Imphal East District.
In a release, Wide Angle Social Development Organisation informed that about 720 displaced people from Moreh and Churachandpur are taking shelter at the relief camp.
Relief materials were also distributed at Maklang, New Keithelmanbi, Konthoujam, Yaingangpokpi and Phayeng.
