Malem continues hunger strike at Kangla

With the demand for restoration of peace, scrape SoO pact with Kuki militants and PM Modi's intervention to end the conflict in the state, transgender activist Malem Thongam continued hunger strike protest at the western gate of Kangla fort on Wednesday.
Malem continued the hunger strike from 2.30 pm at the Kangla western gate, but was short-lived as the police picked and took him to JNIMS hospital around 3.30 pm.
Malem launched his hunger strike on February 22 in Delhi and continued his protest at Khurai Konsam Leikai in the state.
He was then arrested by the police and produced before the court which remanded him for judicial custody for three days.
After release from jail on March 4, he resumed the hunger strike at Singjamei Parking Temporary market.
Subsequently, he was picked up by the police and took him at JNIMS hospital.
