Outreach prog on SVEEP organised

Imphal, March 06 2024:
A one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Systematic Voter's Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organised at Biramangol College, Sawombung on Wednesday.
College principal Dr O Premila Chanu presided over the event, while AC to DC, Imphal East L Rita, vice principals Dr Ch Ghanajit and Dr N Meerabai Devi, CBC, RO, Imphal Thokchom Anthony and election supervisor at DC, Imphal East district Pebam Paikhomba attended as resource persons.
Bira-mangol College NSS Unit 2 programme officer Dr Laishram Landhoni also attended the programme along with her NSS volunteers.
As a part of the programme, Paikhomba demonstrated the three components of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) including the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (WPAT) to the first time voters.
He also informed the audience how to register as a voter, forms used in correction and deletion of names.
A demonstration on how to use the EVM with the first time voters was carried out.
Ethical and informed voting was also discussed.
Later, an on-the-spot quiz contest was held and mementoes along with certificates handed over to the winners apart from certificate of participation to the first time voters, and T-Shirts and caps to quiz winners and the audience.
Private registered troupe of CBC, RO, Imphal namely, M/s Kangjabi Meitei Chanu Artistes cum Drama Association, presented a theme-based drama called "Mihut Khanba" (Election) .
