VDF units celebrate Raising Day

Imphal West District VDF Employees' Welfare Association and Bishnupur District VDF Welfare Association celebrated the 15th VDF Raising Day at their respective units on Wednesday.
VDF was formed in 2009 to aid law and order in Manipur.
The Imphal West VDF body's celebration presided over by Imphal West SP Ksh Shivakanta Singh and attended by officials and personnel of the district unit had the SP handing over cash reward and commendation letter to VDF personnel in recognition of the their extraordinary performance.
CHMT cards under VDF RR effective from October 18, 2022, were also distributed on the occasion.
As part of the event, team of officers and representatives of the association led by SP Shivakanta distributed essential items includ ing boots, clothes and edible items along with commendation certificates to the VDF personnel who are deployed in the peripheral villages.
While conveying gratitude to participants and supporters of the celebration, the association also drew the immediate attention of CM N Biren for reviewing pay scale and upgrading the VDF.
In Bishnupur district, the VDF raising day celebration was organised by Bishnupur District VDF Welfare Association at Bishnupur district police headquarters with the participation of the district's SP Ksh Rabikumar, additional SP (law & order) Satyam Takhellambam, additional SP (operation) L Amarjit, SDPO (Bishnupur) L Khogen Singh, SDPO (Moirang) K Santosh, Association president L Deban, vice president Oinam Bijoy and other top officials of the district police.
Speaking at the event, SP Rabikumar commended role of VDF personnel in maintaining law and order and providing security to the public at par with the state police personnel.
He also praised VDF associations for taking up welfare activities of its member personnel in time need.
Rabikumar further exhorted the VDF personnel to continue to perform their duty with sincerity.
As part of the programme, 46 VDF personnel were presented with appreciation certificates and cash rewards for their exceptional service as well as monetary aid to family members of personnel who got injured or suffered wounds in unforeseeable incidents.
