AR conducts medical camp, dedicates hall

Assam Rifles organised a medical aid camp at Hiangtam, Churachandpur district on Tuesday to provide comprehensive medical check-ups and distribute essential medicines to the local populace.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the initiative garnered enthusiastic participation from individuals across all age groups, resulting in around 24 villagers benefiting from medical examinations and medication distribution.
Interactive sessions were also conducted to educate the participants on the importance of timely medical intervention, hygiene practices, disease prevention, and addressing any queries they had regarding healthcare, it added.
A medical camp aimed creating awareness amongst the internally displaced people from various parts of Manipur and address their immediate medical needs was also conducted at the relief camp at Manipur College, Singjamei, on Wednesday along with a detailed talk on awareness and precautions for seasonal diseases and importance of personal hygiene and sanitation.
In a statement, PRO IGAR (S) informed that 67 residents of the relief camp were examined by medical team for various ailments and complimentary medicines and sanitation kits provided to all during the camp.
The event culminated with an invigorating interaction over tea and refreshments, the release added.
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles handed over a newly constructed community hall to Choithar village, Ukhrul on Wednesday.
Based on the need for a community hall to host public gatherings and community activities, a requirement was highlighted by the locals to the central security force, said the PRO in another release, adding that the community hall was constructed as part of Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme.
The inauguration of the community hall was carried out by Tangkhul Shanao Long (women's association) vice president Sochanpi in the presence of president of Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (youth association) Themaso Tallanao and Choithar village authority.
The locals conveyed their gratitude and appreciation to the Assam Rifles for undertaking the initiative for the society and urged to bring similar public-benefiting projects in Ukhrul district, the release added.
